Fairtrade

Fortnight 2019

Monday 25th February - Sunday 10th March

This year we are celebrating Fairtrade Fortnight, an annual celebration of the people who grow our food and make our clothes. Fairtrade supports farmers and their families who live in some of the poorest countries in the world, and who are often exploited and badly paid. For 2019 there is a focus on the people – in particular the women – who grow the cocoa in the chocolate we love.

See some of the events and activities we have planned below:

No one likes to waste food, especially if a lot of time, energy, and human resources have gone into producing it. But how can we be better at avoiding the bin?

Too Good To Go, an innovative food waste app (and recent partner with Birkbeck) will be delivering a presentation and quiz on how you can get more from your food purchases, save money, and continue to support organisations such as Fairtrade.
